Find Ancestors

I am searching for any information on Hilda Mary Sutherland, born 10/09/1901 at Peterhead Aberdeen, died 16/03/1993 Bexley, Kent, as far as I know unmarried.

I have searched Scottish records and via Genesreunited, and have identified relatives from early 1900s, but looking for anyone who knew her in later life as I believe she lived in London/Kent for most of her life, dying at Flat B Carrington, Chislehurst Road Sidcup, Kent.

What does the cert say about her ?

The only way to find a connection is to research any siblings she may have had.

If she died under her birth name, the assumption is that she didn't marry.......although she could have married, divorced, and reverted to maiden name

Is she related to you?

Who registered the death? Have you tried to trace/contact that person?

Sorry for not responding quicker Reggie, I haven't used the board before, so didn't realise there was a reply.

I have one sibling family for Hilda that is mainly in Scotland and seems to have had little to do with her. The tree also runs out and I am treading water on that at the moment.

Hilda may be related to me, but via an adoption link. I am following up your pointer on who registered the death.

You can purchase a scan of the register on https://www.deceasedonline.com. You have to buy credits (minimum cost £3.00) but as you appear to be in the process of purchasing the DC, you may find the informants details are the same.

Although its nearly 20 years ago, it may be possible to trace the informants to ask them about Hilda

Another thing - depending how desperate you are to find out about her.

You could ask the Probate Office to see if she left a Will, or if her Estate was Administered. I think that if an Estate is of a low value, this dosen't have to occur.

A search would cost £6, but if they don't find anything, they don't bother to tell you but keep the money.
