You could try to see if any early censuses (1801-1831) survive and they would be in the relevant Record Office if they do. Most were 'head counts' but I have seen one for 1811 where the original schedules have survived and they were a mine of information, but I stress you will have to be very lucky to find that sort of detail. |

I am almost totally convinced that the Thomas Molton b 1782 in Winterborne Whitechurch (about 15 miles from Bridport) is the same who died in 1834 aged 52, in Bridport and married Martha. |

As Thomas named his first son William it ticks another box that his parents could be the 1782 baptism of William and Sarah. His aged at death is as reliable as the person who gave the details.-jl |

according to Bridport family history museum, someone has added date of birth as 1787 for Thomas Molton; this has been a real pain |

The image of the marriage is on Ancestry - both of this parish; the witness John Curme appears on many marriage records so he was probably the Churchwarden. There are no tax or wills coming up for Thomas. |

On the marriage records occasionally they enter the actual abode of the couple as opposed to 'both of this parish'. Could anyone help with look up of the actual record or could it be available on line?- and the usual checking of witnesses- jl |
