Hi

Looking for the DOB of my Gt Grandfather, William Cummings

The known facts :-

Married in 1879 to Elizabeth Giles in Plymouth, and had 10 children
Marr Cert states that he was a Seaman residing in Liverpool, and that his father was called Thomas, who was a Ships Stower ?

In 1890, according to my Granfather's Birth Cert William was a Fisherman

Died 1927 in Plymouth, Aged 71, a Coal Dealer and Naval Pensioner, and with a middle name of Mundle ?

Able to trace him on the Census from 1881 to 1911 in Plymouth which states he was born in Liverpool, but not on the 1861 or 1871 Census.

Unable to find any Naval or Merchant Navy details for him.

Was Cummings spelt differently ?

Was he born in Liverpool ?

Was he born in 1855 ?

The family tell me he was good at languages, and that there may have been a Norway connection in Trondheim ? Is that where Mundle came from ?

Tried various Birth Certs for William and Death Certs for Thomas but to no avail.

Is there anybody who maybe able to help.
