Hi Everyone
I am doing a 'life story' of one of my Ancestors, John Oliver North b.1810 Winsham, Somerset. On FreeReg at his marriage to Louisa Woonton, 25/12/1834 at St Michael and All Angels Church, Chaffcombe, Somerset, the witnesses are James Guffrey and Eliza Cootsby. I thought it might be a cool thing to do to try and find out a bit more about the two witnesses, but have drawn a complete blank! I haven't any idea of their ages, but have tried a whole range of possible birth years. I've also tried variations on the spelling of their surnames.
Any help or suggestions gratefully received. (I have all the info I need on John)

Take into account that Eliza Cootsby could be married so that wouldn't be her maiden name.

can't see a Guffrey or a Cootsby in Somerset - or anywhere else for that matter

These witnesses are certainly elusive! Maybe they just made up the names!! :-S
