I am looking for the death of Esau James Webb, often went by the name James.

He was born on the 28th Dec 1862 in Grays (Orsett) Essex, i know he was still in Grays up until the 1911 census. On my grandmothers wedding certificate in June 1923 he is not deceased so died after then.

Any help appreciated.

Unless he witnessed the marriage, you can't be certain he was alive......................

When did his wife die? And where?

How was she described on her death cert?

'Wife of'............or 'Widow of'?

Have you tried looking under James E - perhaps that was how he was known to the person who registered his death?
