Is that all you have for the address? There is a McLean family in Garngadhill 1901 which might be worth checking out 1911 to see if they have any other children:

Thanks Janice - Can't seem to find an Ina that looks right and I doubt she would have been an accounts debt collector if she was under 15. It is such a mystery

Was Ina short for Catherina, seeing that she called her daughter Catherina.?

There are 2 Ina McLean marriages in Lanarkshire after 1927 so if you get some credits for ScotlandsPeople, you could view them and see if Ina has the same job.

EDIT first is in 1945 so you wouldn't be able to view it.

Not sure how you are going to sort this one out as Ina McLean seems to be a popular name

Provided Ina wasn't under 16 when she had the baby, she should be on the 1911 census.

Hi

My mother was born Catherina Margaret McLean 29 March 1927 to Ina McLean (no father on the birth cert)
Ina was working as a Drapery Accounts collector. Birth registered 13 April 1927 Garngadhill Glasgow - Lanark

I know my mother was brought up by the O'Reilly family of Garngadhill Glasgow - their children were John and Catherina Theresa

How could I even start to find Ina?

Many. Many thanks Cathy Owen
