Hello.
I have a John Richmond born c1808 who does not appear on any censuses before 1871. He only then appears as the father of Mary, Benjamin, Charles , Albert and Harriet. The birth date is from the 1871 census that shows him as 63 years old living with his son Albert. He may have been in Sheffield jail in 1842 but other than that I have no info from 1808 where he was born to 1871.
Can any body help please.

The John Richmond in jail in 1841 is also a Silver Buffer. Can't see him in the Criminal list at the moment

Have had no joy with finding a marriage for him on Familysearch. You might need a birth cert to find out Harriet's name, e.g.

n Ancestry tree has his spouse as Harriet Shemeld though no evidence cited. According to them they married 1829 at Sheffield Cathedral.
