After many years of looking, we are still inable to find the record of the death of my wife's great grandfather George Frederick Chandler b Berkshire 1868, married to Evelyn Violet Astill in Birmingham. All we know is that Evelyn re-married in 1905 as a widow. We therefore assumed that he died, but now wonder if he actually died before she re-married, or whether he just disappreared. Emigrated or moved away, re-married or changed his name? We have in the past searched immigration records and come up with nothing. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated. |

Yes, He is living with his wife Evelyn Violet Chandler, his children and John Sanders, the lodger, whom Evelyn Violet married in 1905. Yes, we also wondered if they buried him under the floor boards! |

Is it possible that the digital record of his death has been missed out when transcribed from the paper records? Would it be worth asking the Birmingham records office to check through the paper records of deaths? |

Yes, I guess this is our next step, possibly our only answer and explanation. Many thanks for your help and interest and also to the others who have taken the trouble to try and look him up. THANKS! |
