Can anyone tell me how I go about looking for Divorce records?

Hello Anne, it would depend when and where you think it may have happened.

Some divorce court files are at the National Archive. Try searching their catalogue.

Hi Janice,

Many thanks

It was between 1937 and 1950, I will try and look at the National Archives.

Thanks for your help

Hi Janice
Many divorce records do not survive, however I found someone listed on the National Archives website who was divorced in 1934, so good luck. As a point of interest, if you order a paper copy of the divorce papers they give an estimated cost of £15. The amount actually charged in my case was just under £10 and it arrived within four days
