My relative, Joseph Lyons, served in the British Army until about 1923. He was in the Queens Own 4th Hussars and served in India at Mutra after WW1. His service number was 45203. He was in Aldershot from about 1901 to about 1907 with a different service number of 4419. Before this latter number is written - I.R.R. of Cav. I wrote to the Historical Disclosures Section in Glasgow but they referred me to Kew. However, my understanding is that only pre 1922 records are held in Kew. |

The Regimental museum is in Eastbourne so perhaps you could include that in your itinerary. |

His medal card at the National archives also has another regimental number not 4419 but 4519 linking him as a reserve at some point |

many thanks to all for responses. And, George, I would appreciate a copy of the original if possible. The plot seems to thicken! |
