If he is actually 40 in that entry like it looks on the actual record then his birth year would be 1811 and it wouldn't be my Charles Mortimer. Not sure where they got 26 from on that.

One of my ancestors, a Charles Mortimer, was born in Mildenhall, Wiltshire in 1821. He was the son of Edward Mortimer and Miriam James. I have found him on the 1841 census return living in Stratton, Wiltshire and then in 1861 in St Giles, Middlesex lodging with the Welling Family. I have not been able to locate him in 1851, or 1871 onwards - would appreciate any help. The 1861 census shows that he married a lady called Mary b 1825 and it looks like the place of birth is Whur Castell but I've tried looking on Google for this place name and nothing comes up. Any ideas?
