Hi Everyone

I am tracing my Robson family in the USA.

Thomas W above was born to Thomas Robson and Katherine Bauer and is listed in the 1940 census living at Mount Vernon, Westchester, New York. They had another child June Katherine R who I have successfully traced. (In this census Katherine is recorded as Catherine and June as Jane both of which are wrong).

The W in his name is probably Worley.

I know Thomas W was alive in 1975 but other than that nothing is known.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Edit- BUT it says he was the son of the late Thomas and Anna Robson.

so unless his father re-married, it may not be the same person?

ROBSON--Thomas W., age 74 of Bridgewater, NJ died Friday, August 15, 2008 at his home. Born in Mount Vernon, NY, he was the son of the late Thomas and Anna Robson. Tom had lived in Flushing, NY before moving to Bridgewater 40 years ago. Tom served in the Army Quartermaster Corps during the Korean War and was a part of the Military Honors Detail. He was a plant supervisor for the New York Times in Edison, NJ for 14 years, before retiring in 2001. In his retirement years, Tom loved to garden and was an avid bird watcher. He loved nature and all of God's creatures. Tom is survived by many special people; his wife, Marie Robson, Florence Leta and her family, his sister-in-law, Jeanne Giordano, his niece, Julie Memoli, his three nephews, Joseph, Steven and Matthew Giordano and 13 grandnieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at 10am at the Church of the Little Flower, 310 Plainfield Ave., Berkeley Heights, NJ. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, from 4:00 to 7:00pm at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse. Thought I may add.....
Checked the US census of 1940 and I found another Thomas Robson b 1934 in NY, although not Thomas W Robson
Although this could be his Obit, he had at least 3 other siiblings.
His father was called Thomas, but his mother wasn't called Anna, she was called ELLA.

Hi Everyone

I have looked into the obit and other information about Thomas W Robson and it is the correct person.

His mother listed in the obit is wrong though, it was definately Katherine Bauer. Katherine died some time prior to 1950. The only reference found to her death is in a newspaper article in 1950 announcing the marriage of her daughter June Katherine Robson to Jerry Nardelli. Unfortunately June died in 1975 and Jerry has dementia (poor bloke).

Katherine's husband - Thomas - remarried at some point to an Alice. Alice had some type of mental illness and I believe she died in Wingdale Physciatric Hospital, Wingdale, Dutchess County, NY.
