Hi Gins just got back from library and confirmed that both Jane and Mary Ann's father was called James a mariner so looks like my tree is correct and they were both born in Whitby along with brothers William and James who my tree is based on.It was with Ancestry saying Durham & Sunderland births had me concerned.there was 3 more children born in Sunderland after 1826 |

I think the Drummond family moved from whitby to Sunderland between1824 -1826 if i am on the right family but i wont know untill i go back and check the parish records fo both girls fathers names. IF it is George i am following the wrong line |

Iwill have to check the father of Jane on the marriage to Lancelot Mewburn and the father of Mary Ann on her marriage to William Hore as i thought their parents were James Drummond of Scotland and Mary Husband of Whitby |

This is what is confusing me i believed jane was born jane drummond in whitby in 1824 and Mary Ann drummond in whitby in 1817 seems to be a mistake for both ladies but it does appear tha lancelot is living with his aunt mary |

It says Durham, Sunderland on the census but someone has added other info to the transcription page to say she was born in Whitby, Yorkshire |
