I have my monitor calbrated and colour corrected to be a true representation for photographs.
When complaining to GR about the new user-unfriendly layout, they
advised me to reduce the brightness on the screen...... I advised them to do the same.

I did email genes about the glare the white pages give out as it hurts my eyes and i also said why do they have to change everything so often
they are looking into it nothing is ever straight forward i hate changes :-(

i do not like the new page at all :-(

If you haven't already, please tell GR about the difficulties you had prior to tweaking by emailing them at

Although you will probably get a standard reply, we've been told that all feedback about the changes are logged and passed to the Developers.

I have changed my setting in google chrome
and lowered to 95% and clicked on larger print which has made it a lot better :-)

I changed my brightness on the monitor itself.,I did not realise it was set on

100%,it is now a lot better but still very bright for me, I think it is the combination

of the colours that is the touble on looking at A............. side by side with this site.

It is just softer colours that make the dif Genes is just to stark with its contrast

I also have my Icons back thanks to a Genes member.

Sue I managed to decrease the brightness on my monitor by right clicking the screen and going to settings and resolutions but i would like the writing in bold also a larger size how can i do this please

How did you alter your screen....I sound so dumb don't I.

We should not have to be doing all this stuff anyway the site was good as it was.

I wrote to genes who said members wanted a new page it doesnt matter about people who have poor eyesight so i wont be online tracing my family tree for long in future

I have adjusted the contrast and brightness on my monitor and now got a gentle very light lavender background that is much easier on the eyes

Are GR trying to induce eye-strain, headaches and poor vision ? Not to mention frustration.
There just doesn't seem to be any merit in this new change at all.
