Where has the "Search other Tree's" section Gone ??

It's on the menu above where it says "Search" with a magnifying glass. Moved to right of menu.

GR certainly didn't waste any time in foisting this new look site on us..........without any explanations of the changes.

A handful of members were given access to the beta testing, and asked for feedback.....................there has not been time for any feedback to be evaluated.

But that doesn't surprise me......there was clearly never any intention for it to be taken into account anyway. Lip service...that was all.

Sappho, the did warn us...here it is...

The site will be temporarily unavailable tomorrow morning between 8.30 and 9am. This is so that we can release some very exciting updates to both the site and the family tree.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and will have the site back up and running as quickly as we can.

"Exciting" I know what my thoughts are at the moment and that word certainly doesn't come to mind. I really don't know why I am expected to have communication with a 'help' team in order to get their system working. For the members who haven't had any problems I presume the change is welcomed-jl

talk about the inmates running the asylum.
all these changes that have been thrust on us arbitrarily, as the previous message said if it aint broke dont fix it.
wonder how much it cost us - the members, how much of out membership fees it cost, for something we didnt want.
and it def isnt progress. all these changes to suit the computer!! surely the computer should be suiting us.

I won't be jumping ship. As a constant member since 2003, I pay under £10 pa which I think is great value, especially for the many friendships I have made on here.


I am not a computer whizz kid , I'm a pensioner and I have been patient in experimenting with the new look and tree and have had few problems. I like them both.


Some of the issues which have appeared on threads are due to the inexperience of the member, not the fault of GR.


Believe me, if I wasn't happy, I would say so, but I AM happy and am willing to state it.

my membership runs out in November.....I wont be renewing

this is just another thing added to the long list of things that have gone wrong with this site!

I'm not happy with the new tree either-when I try to change the information on a person,I can't see anywhere to save it,so the info. just disappears.I find it very user unfriendly and very frustrating to use.I don't know why they bother making the changes,they are definitely not an improvement.Perhaps the GR team have to justify their salaries making so-called improvements?? I'm not impressed.

I don't think that I will bother to try to make any more changes to my tree, in future,it's not worth the hassle.I will just use the boards for social comments,and entertainment.
