I am searching for information about William Fryer and his daughter Caroline Fryer.
William and his spouse Catharine (Unknown) had three children: Isabella chr 16 Apr In Partney Lincs UK; George chr 16 Feb 1817 also in Partney.
I can't find a record for Caroline but census records give her approx date of birth as 1814 and place of birth Partney.
Caroline was married three times: Richard Wilkinson; John Allaway; William Forster.
On Caroline's record of marriage to John Allaway, 22 Nov 1851, parish church of Marylebone, Middlesex, her father's occupation was given as a soldier.
Apart from the fact that William was resident in Partney at the time of his children's birth, and the fact that his spouse was Catharine, and he was a soldier I know little about him.
I would like to find a chr record for Caroline. It seems odd that her two siblings are recorded in the parish register in Partney but not Caroline.
I can't find a record of death for Caroline either. It would come under her married name of Forster/Foster and Caroline was now living in the county of Durham.
Any suggestions please? Thank you for your time
Maureen

Siblings were born later so could the family have moved?
Isabella Fryer England, Births and Christenings, 1538-1975 christening: 16 Apr 1815 PARTNEY,?LINCOLN,?ENGLAND parents: William Fryer,? Catharine
George Fryer England, Births and Christenings, 1538-1975 christening: 16 Feb 1817 PARTNEY,?LINCOLN,?ENGLAND
................it is possible that she gave her place of birth as Partney because that is where she was brought up and/or didn't know that she had been born somewhere else????

Hi Catherine
That is a possibility but where do I go from there? This lady has led me such a dance. She was born in Lincs (I think). By 1834 she married Richard Wilkinson in Durham. After his death she moved to Swindon in Wiltshire with her daughter Jane. She had a relationship with John Allaway and gave birth to three children, Albert, Mary Catherine and Felix. The family moved to Marylebone in Middlesex. She married John Allaway in 1851. A few years later John died and Caroline moved to Durham where she married William Forster. He died sometime between 1861 and 1871 because in the 1871 census Caroline was a widow living in Bishopwearmouth, Durham.
She seems to have roots in Durham. I wonder if this is where she was born?
Regards Maureen

Thanks for replying to my message. Yes they are Mary Catherine's children. Mary was married to William Henry Harn but he died and Mary went to live with her mother Caroline. :-)

Thank you so much for this info. I do appreciate it. Now I can concentrate on finding her record of birth but if she wasn't born in Partney then it is going to prove difficult. If she thought that was her place of birth then that is what will be recorded on all her records I suppose.
Kind regards Maureen :-)
