If you have the right birth, Q4/1908 I doubt the 1911 census posted by Jonesey is the right one as there is another Sidney Pickering born to correspond to that census. Also older brother on the census (James Douglas) birth was registered Q1/1908.

I looked at that one, but was doubtful - they are precise with the other names so why miss off her middle name? Without their birth certificates (or their marriage in 1930) think it is difficult to be sure of either of them.

The family posted by Chris is on a tree on Ancestry, but there's no more details for Gladys. Think it's more likely to tie in wth the Nottingham birth as Gertrude was also reg Nottingham.

I did wonder whether they end up marrying :-)
