Janette,

In order to make any progress may I suggest that you will almost certainly need to obtain a copy of Evelyn and Frank's marriage certificate in the hope that it will contain details of Evelyn's father. With that information it should be possible to discover her parents marriage and thus the name of her mother.

As Patchem has mentioned it is possible that her mother had been married previously so that her name at her marriage to Evelyn's father may not have been her maiden name which would be the one indicated on Evelyn's birth certificate.

Evelyn was born during the period of WW1 during which a lot of women were widowed and subsequently remarried. If that were the case in this instance it will be necessary to search for a ?auley female marrying a male with the surname under which Evelyn's mother married Evelyn's father.

Have you got Evelyn's marriage certificate, for confirmation of Father's name?

Possibly Evelyn's Mother had been married before.

Webster Pauley lived and died in that name, a man.

Unlikely that a woman married in 1882 would have a child born 36 years later in 1918.

Plus Webster is usually a male forename not a female one.

Ancestry transcribed it as Pauley.

If it is important to your research you need to buy the birth registration.

On FMP looks like Fauley but it is smudged.
