Mark, on the search boxes put Shallcross in the "last names" box and then underneath where it says "search by relationships" select "parents".

That then opens up boxes for father's first and last names (I entered Thomas and Shallcross), in the box for mother I just put in Millicent. Then click the green search button. It brought up loads of results (it usually gives preference to US records) so then use the "filter your results" by clicking on "birthplace" and selecting "United Kingdon & Ireland" - the three I found are at the top.

EDIT - you've done better than me - I only found 3!

MC

you can shortcut seeing all the US records

enter surname in surname box

click on Births

enter England (or county, england) in the Birthplace box

enter year before marriage and about 30 years later in the 2 year boxes

enter parents names as you said

Only get English records then!

but not deaths or marriages, of course.

Sylvia, I do sometimes use that way if I'm purely looking for a birth. However, I've found the other way has sometimes yielded the bonus of a marriage for the offspring!

Trying to find any of these children on census records.
Family search is playing up.. can someone double check the marriage date is definitely 1808

These children b 1823-1832 may be their younger children who could be living with elder siblings at 1841 as there is no sign of the parents..

Thanks Chris
Just wanted to double check as these children were all born quite late into the marriage.
There are loads of Shallcross families in the same area at 1841 and 1851 but no Thomas and Millicent.
One or both may have died and these younger kids could be in any number of households.
There are quite a few Thomas, Ellen and Mary Shallcross in 1841 who fit the profile of the kids, but as there is no relationships provided in 1841. There is no way to positively identify them.

MArk

How did you get back to this couple, if you don't know who their children were?
