Is it his father Ernest who enlisted for WW1 in Canada? He was born 23 April 1873, Reigate, Surrey and lived in North Battlefield, Saskatchewan.

Could this be his arrival with the wrong middle initial?

You're very welcome Carrie.

If you can give us an indication of what you're trying to find out then we can have a look to see what other records might help.

Are there any other Canadian records available such marriages?

Unfortunately I think that Saskatchewan is about the only province that doesn't have any online vital statistics. I stand to be corrected on that. mgnv?

Search for Ernest at:
http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/databases/cef/001042-100.01-e.php

That way, you can get the back of his attestation paper too.
The 232nd Bn was a replacements unit - he would have been transferred to a front line battalion after his training was completed.
See the search help link for how to buy his service record and access the unit's war diaries - you'll need the service record to know what his unit is.

No hit at CWGC, so
Go to http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/microform-digitization/index-e.html and take the following link:
Introduction
June 18, 2012 - New digitized content:
Veterans Death Cards: First World War

The collection's not indexed, but is alphabetical - you want image 828 (of 1313) in the appropriate volume.
Died in BC, eh!

For SK BMDs (partial transcription only):

[*** MARGEE *** pay attention]

Go to http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/databases/census-1916/index-e.html
and search for district=North Battleford subdistrict#=5
You want Division=A pages 4 & 5 (of 46)
Note Ernest has a "C" in col 4 (as do several of his neighbours).
This indicates he's not at home, but he's a serviceman off training somewhere in Canada
