After finding out about my great aunt who I never knew existed, I am having trouble finding out more information about her. I have got her birth record 1898 - Salford Lancs and a record of her in the 1901 and 1911 census. However I can't find a marriage or death record for her. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

There's a tree on Ancestry which suggests she went to Canada

Public Member Tree
4 attached records, 6 sources Henrietta Goodier
Birth: Oct 1898 - Lancashire, England
Death: 1979 - Hamilton, Ontario, Canada
Marriage: 26 July 1919 (26 Jul 1919) - Hamilton, Ontario, Canada

The parents for Henrietta are Henry and Eliza Ann nee Slater which match up with the 1891 census. (Henry died 1898)

Hello Gillian and welcome to the boards.

Could you confirm who her parents were, that helps us trace the right person.

Just to confirm that she doesn't show up under that name for FreeBMD all the way up to 1950.

Welcome to the boards.

From what I can see on that tree, Albert was born in Belfast, was in the Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force in WW1, they married 26 July 1919 in Hamilton, Ontario and had 2 children. He died in 1984. Henrietta died in 1979.

Their son married over here (Hastings) in 1943 then went back to Canada. He died in 1983.

Do you subscribe to Ancestry? If so, you can find the tree yourself - it's the Craig tree.

Good luck,
Janice

You don't need to subscribe to Ancestry to see public trees on there - they can be viewed on the sister site Mundia http://www.mundia.com/gb/

You can search the trees on there and also send messages to the tree owners, and it's free to register and use.
