Yes Moody I did find them.

I have spoken to the family again and they are NOW saying its possible they met and married in Canada!!!!!

The 1911 trip does seem very likely if thats the case. Will have to see if anyone can find a marriage in Canada

There is a marriage on the Ancestry Index for Sydney Hodge and Minnie Taylor at York, Ontario, Canada but I do not have a subscription to look further - perhaps someone else has?

Sydney Hodge (1883), his wife Minnie (1878) and daughter Evelyn Elizabeth (1917) arrived back from Canada on the Cunard Line "Antonia" from Motreal & Quebec on 6/12/1923.

I can find no record of when they arrived in Canada but I do know Evelyn Elizabeth was born over there in 1917. Sydney was a labourer and the family history is that he went to Canada to hunt bears.

It would very helpful if anyone can find any info about the family in Canada, especially Evelyn's birth cert as I have no idea what Minnie's maiden name was or even if Minnie was her "proper" name.

* since my original post the family is now saying its possible Sidney and Minnie married in Canada. Any chance of finding a record please??
