There is a death for a Thos McEVOY with parents Patrick & Catherine in 1878 in Newtown that could be a brother? (reg 2850).

Do you have her death certificate? Are you sure about her marriage year as Laurence & Ellen had a daughter named Margaret in 1856. Could Laurence have been her 2nd husband? Can't see their marriage in NSW, nor her arrival as McEvoy.

An In Memoriam notice by her daughter:
The Sydney Morning Herald, Saturday 19 September 1891
D'ARCY -In sad and loving memory of my dear mother, Ellen D'Arcy, who departed this life on September 19, 1890. Inserted by her affectionate daughter, Margaret M. A. D'Arcy.

Assume you have Laurence's death details (notices at NLA Trove as Lawrence D'Arcy). Margaret married George H DIXON in 1901 in Sydney and died in 1926.

Did you know Laurence was a convict? This must be him:

Surname: D'ARCY
FirstName: Laurence
Vessel: Hadlow
Year: 1820
No: 24/359
Record Type: Ticket of Leave
Citation: [4/4060; Reel 890]
District: Appin; Born: Meath 1894; Trade: Labourer; Tried: Wicklow 1819

N.B. Year of birth obviously wrong if he was tried in 1819! :)

DARCY, Lawrence. Per "Hadlow", 1820
1822 Mar 11
On list of prisoners assigned (Fiche 3290; 4/4570D p.27)
1824
Servant of A Byrne of Appin; attestation as to his character for a ticket of leave (Reel 6027; 4/1716.1 p.91)

He got his Certificate of Leave in 1826 and married Mary CLYNCH in 1827 at St Mary's, Sydney. See www.records.nsw.gov.au

Laurence and Ellen are buried together in Row 6 at St Bede's Catholic Cemetery in Appin (notably beside several members of the Clynch family!)

In Row 4 of this Cemetery are:
Patrick
McEvoy
10.03.1850
Patrick
McEvoy
05.12.1854
Catherine McEvoy
11.09.1876
Thomas
McEvoy
22.01.1878

Seems to add credibility to the Thos above being her brother!

In Row 10 what appears to be a son of Laurence & Ellen, and his wife:

John
D'Arcy
29.04.1941
Mary
D'Arcy
03.10.1932

then in the next row is Joseph, a son of John & Mary above who died in 1969.
