there's a couple of trees on Ancestry that have this family in quiet a lot of detail, it seems the marriage above is correct :-)

Alice and John probably meant to be recorded as children of Robert and Mary.

Have you got children's birth certificates for Mother's maiden name?

Im trying to work out what is going on with an ancestor of mine, Robert Adams born 1850 in Islington, London.

On the 1881 Census he is living at home with his father Charles as head, his mother Jane, and his brother james. James is listed as single, robert as married and Mary Adams is listed as 'wife of son' with two children john and alice who are listed as son and daughter of the head.

In 1891 I think Jane has died but the family are still living with Charles. James is still single, and Robert is still married but the woman listed as daughter in law is a Henrietta Adams with john and alice now grandshildren and more grandchildren added to the list.

I cant find the marriage record of robert to either mary or henrietta. Any help would be great,
