Find Ancestors

Hello,

I am struggling to trace any further back on my great grandfather's side I know he married Annie Stead Jowitt in 1915 in Windsor and they had 4 children (Annie, Joyce, Joseph & Norma) can anybody help unfortunately with Harrison being quite a common name I seem to be struggling?

Have you any idea at all about where he was born?

A copy of his marriage certificate hopefully will give his fathers details which may help to identify him in census records.

I have had trouble trying to locate the marriage on UKBMD, FreeBMD although the marriage shows on this site - could anybody direct me to where I could obtain a certified copy of the mariage certificate?

I know Joseph was in the Household Cavalry and that up to now is all I know - ordered the marriage certificate so fingers crossed that will reveal more..

I have now received the marriage certificate which confirms Joseph's father as Joseph Harrison (deceased) at time of marriage his occupation was a Slater - on the 1911 census I have managed to locate them living in Ardwick he was born 1861c in Stalydbridge his wife was called Elza, I cannot find their marriage though and on the census it has no years under the marriage column... so yet again seem to have ground to a halt ...

I wanted to check really if anybody could find out anything else re Eliza (maiden name) or even marriages of the other children?

as the marriage certificate doesn't show where born it is difficult to guess that his family are from the same area as his wife - but the 1911 census show's the same occupation for his father being a 'slater'.

Thank you I will try and contact the ancestry tree owner to clarify further, but not a member so dont know if I can send a message.
