Hi.
I'am trying to find relatives of my grandma's two elder sisters. my gran was Gladys Emily Russell born 1902 Eastpeckham Kent, her eldest sister was Ellen Louisa Russell born 1896 EP Kent married Oliver Luck in 1931 I donnot know wheather they had children. grans other sister was Ethel Maude Russell born 1899 EP Kent married Frank Swan in 1918, I believe they had four children but I do not know any of the childrens names. So I was hopeing that some one from that area of Kent may know these two families. Sorry I can't give anymore info. this is as much as I know.

Welcome to the boards Colin.

You can try looking for children of those marriages on this free site

http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/cgi/search.pl

Choose the Births option, then put in just the married surname and maiden surname to find possible children.

If you check on these GR boards in the SEARCH TREES tab above here, you might find some of those names are in other's trees and you can click on their names to hopefully share information.

Have you looked on FreeBMD ?

After the end of 1911 the mothers maiden name was added to the index.

You would need to put in both surnames - select births - Swan in top box and Russell in the other box

I think this is the marriage. They seem to interchange names a bit.

Could they have moved 6/7 miles after the Marriage?
If they did then the following could be the children.
Only way to prove it is by buying one childs birth cert.

Births Dec 1918
Swan Doreen E Russell Tonbridge 2a 1233

Births Jun 1921
Swan Ronald F Russell Tonbridge 2a 1664

You are welcome Colin.

If we can help you further just ask.

I have family from that village and neighbouring Mereworth so we may meet again. :-D
