does it say parents names , or fathers name, of this joseph pickering who married elizabeth alice duxbury? Because ive found one who died in 1951 aged 47 and it looks a bit like his dads name was matthew?? |

I did find a child born and died within a year in burnley with mothers maiden name marsland and his name was james duxbury. Born 1918, died 1919. so if he was child of alice before she remarried that may narrow it down just a tiny bit. I guess though that would mean she had him out of weedlock so to speak . :-D wedlock, sorry !!! |

i looked at that joseph pickering marriage, looked promising. plus its a name im familiar with in the area. think they had a child joyce in 1933. possibly. ! Thats always supposing they returned to burnley , but its likely as alice was born there and maybe she knew noone in hemsworth after richard passed away so young. And there is loads of choices for alice to have married again too. will check them all out. Dont want to get lots of certificates unless i have to. but i think you can ask for fathers name to be specified if you ring up certain registrars . I would get via lancashire registtration services and they are very good at preston. |

Justg a guess. because a big coincidence otherwise?? and she would have had to not get married , which is not common i suppose. I did check free bmd and there are loads of choices for a marriage for alice. just a hard search. unless a family member knows for sure i suppose. |

Hi gins, from the marriage details, if 1922 is correct , elizabeth would be too young to get married in 1922. if she was born in 1909. unless date of marriage is wrong? strange??? as death date matches?? unless that eliz is the sister of herbert??? |

thankyou. that looks good. Can anyone spot if alice or elizabeth maybe moved back to burnley. its a difficult one as there are no more census to check. and alice and elizabeth are common names. i think alice would have remarried. and if her parents were still in burnley its likely she made her way back there?? |
