Irene, the daughter, had a middle name that began with J. Could be she went by that.

Reggie unfortunately I haven't the original baptism cert, but have a card with info on it, but it doesn't give me godmother's name . I am certain this is the family . Thanks for your reply. I have found an address for her son so will try writing to him. i have found my godmother died in 1995 and frank died in 1991. My mother died in 2005.

If you find your baptism record, you will get factual info about the lady's first name

Rose Thank you so much, those are the family. Rosemary and Colin rang a bell. Maybe now I can find a marriage for Rosemary or Irene and get in contact that way.
You are a gem.

Do you remember the names of any of their children?

When were the children born?

When was your mother born as, I assume, Mrs Twitchett was born around the same time?

Have you tried Search Trees on this site?

If you find a possible match you can contact the tree owner to see if you have a connection.

Just search for Twitchetts born in Suffolk with an approximate birth year, +/- 10 or 20 years?

Hi Sunny Rosy

Have you tried searching for any in the trees on here?

It is unlikely anyone related will see the post in the near future

You could try and find there names by trying to find the childrens births and working back from that on freebmd

My godmother's married name was Twitchett, I never knew her christian name as we always called her "Titchy", her husband was a coal merchant and they had 3 children, 2 girls and a boy I think. They lived in a detached house on the main Bury to Sudbury road, halfway between Bury st Edmunds and Sicklesmere. Are you related to them I would like to know a bit more about them. "Titchy" was one of my late's Mum's close friends and I rmember staying with the family when I was small during WW2.
