Hi Porkie Pie
Thanks for reply.
Sorry if I was a bit confusing.
Yes I have tried to find other members but up to now only found one who confirmed names of Hannah's brothers and sisters which I had been given by my mum before she passed away.
I am trying to find Hannah's ancestors, ie her paternal Rees family and maternal Lewis family.
I knew my gran's father was Thomas Rees b1852 as he was named in a newspaper report of my parent's wedding. The one contact I found was able to tell me Thomas married Elizabeth Lewis b1856 so I then sent for their marriage certificate.
The marriage certificate for Thomas and Elizabeth told me that the father of Thomas Rees was also named Thomas Rees and it is an estimated guess he was born about 1830. The father of Elizabeth Lewis was David Lewis b1825.
The one contact I have found was able to tell me the wife of David Lewis was Hannah. He did not seem to know he maiden name.
I have found Thomas Rees b1852 with his wife and family on both the 1901 and 1911 census and think I also have the correct records for 1881 and 1891.
That is all I can find so have come to a dead end at the moment. Had hoped someone may have recognised the family.
Anyway just want to say thanks for replying
Regards Joy.

PS sorry if I replied the wrong way. Not used threads before. Thanks Porkie Pie for putting me wize.Have resubmitted reply.

Have you looked on Search Trees in the box above to see if anyone else on here has any of your family in their trees?
You have given us a lot of information.
Could you break it down into specific queries?
e.g if you want to know the maiden name of Hannah born Clydach about 1830, then it will be on her children's birh certificates. Have you got any of these, or have you attempted to find her marriage to David Lewis.
Have you found them in all the censuses to stop us looking again and duplicating work?
Thanks

You already appear to have plenty of info about Hannah, I doubt this will "ring any bells" with any one however if you could be specific about what info you are looking for then I'm sure help will be given,

Have you tried the search trees to see if any other members have her in their tree?

Can anyone give me information about the family of my grandmother Hannah Rees. She was born 11th August 1878 at Caegraig,Clydach, Swansea. Her father was Thomas Rees, (son of Thomas Rees c1830) born about 1852 at Rhyndwyeclydach. Her mother was Elizabeth Lewis 1856, also born Rhyndwyeclydach. Elizabeth Lewis' father was David Lewis born Clydach c1825 and her mother was Hannah born Clydach about 1830, her maiden name unknown. The siblings of my grandmother Hannah Rees were Daniel, Elizabeth, Mary, Naiomi, Ruth, Sarah and Tom.In 1901 Hannah worked for Carl Langer at Clydach.Hannah married John Williams from Carno at Carmel, Clydach on 29th July 1911.They opened a bakery business together and their home and bakery was Brynmair, Forge Road, Clydach. They had 3 children,Eira who was my mother, Betty and Erddig. My mother Eira married John Alexander from Clydach and was the son of Evan Alexander and Margaretta Alexander nee Williams.Evan and Margaretta were both from Craig Cefn Parc. Evan being the son of Hopkin Alexander and Hannah Hopkins. Margaretta was the daughter of John Williams ,Shoemaker and also sister of William Williams(Crwys)Does this ring a bell with anyone as I would dearly like to know more about Hannah Rees' family.
