David has PM'd me asking about the best way to research parish records.
If anyone can advise that would be great as I am not too knowledgeable in this area.

Well, for a start off

https://www.familysearch.org/
http://www.freereg.org.uk/

It really depends which areas you are looking for. If you look on a census image or transcription, it will give the Parish the dwelling was in. That's often a good hint.

Try Google searching for PR + the area/church. There are loads out there.

Most of the London ones until c1921 for marriages are held by the Lonodn Metropolitan Archives but with many transcribed and shown on Ancestry.

Main Libraries or Archives close to the area will normally hold copies on film.

also try the local Family History Society - you can google for it - they have records which you can buy - either in CD or book form or both

Some counties have online parish clerks. This site lists them.

www.onlineparishclerks.org.uk

The Lancashire one is particularly good. They only have transcriptions, not images.
