Can you list him in 1911 and all other census records?

Who was his wife, his children, his father? Names and dates please.

It was always believed that John Jenkins was born in Swansea, although it appears that he was born in Neath. I am having difficulty researching my family.

Kevin,

Find John in 1881 to see if his brother was Thomas J Jenkins born c1873.

You don't say where John was born, so we can't search for you.

I think the passenger list that MarieCeleste provided above possibly came from Ancestry UK Incoming Passenger Lists, 1878-1960

Thank you marieceleste, I will look for more information to help the search. Do you mind me asking, how did you search for Thomas on passenger list, through genes or somewhere else?
Sorry to ask, but would there be a way of looking at census in valparaiso?

Just an off-chance:

UK Incoming Passenger Lists, 1878-1960
Name: Thomas J Jenkins
Birth Date: abt 1873
Age: 26
Port of Departure: Valparaiso, Chile
Arrival Date: Aug 1899
Port of Arrival: Liverpool, England
Ship Name: Iberia
Official Number: 69336

No, occupation looks like labourer.

Kevin - do you know where your family were from?

Have you traced any of them on census?

If we can find out more about Thomas' background we might be able to find e.g. shipping records that show occupation.

But with the limited info you've given us there are hundreds of Thomas Jenkins born throughout the years, it's like looking for a needle in a haystack.

My great grandfather John Jenkins who was born 1870, had a brother Thomas Jenkins (year of birth currently unknown).
The story in the family is that Thomas Jenkins worked in the british consulate in Valparaiso, Chile. Although I have been unable to find out if this is true.
Therefore my query is, is there a way of tracing his career to see what he did there, was he the actual british consulate or just staff.
