Even in relatively recent times it's not always easy to find them.
I am still searching for someone who died in 1983 , but have yet to find him.
Good luck.

I purchased the CD for the local cemetery and also surname index of churchyard burials for surrounding area but cant find some of them.

Will check the local councils maybe they can help. Alternatively will post a request for a look up on NBI.

Many Thanks for your time and help

It would depend on when and where the death/burial was,

You could ask for a look up on the NBI (national burial index)

Victor offers look ups on this board and also try Google for up to date info

I would say you would have to look through parish register, especially for older ones, people used to more likely be buried than cremated. Local councils may have records of burials.

Hi All

This may seem a really odd question - but is there an easy way of finding out where somebody has been buried or cremated........have details of the deaths but no idea where my ancestors were buried or even cremated.

Do I need to trawl through the parish and crematorium records?

Thanks
