Update re- Residence code 10.
From Florida Goverment Agency,
the code may have been used at the time by Social Services, indicating that she was a residence of another state.
SSN was issued in New York

Thanks to all who contributed to this query.

Regards
Liam

Hello - I found a page with the SSDI abbreviations list - there doesn't seem to be a Code 10 though...nearest is 100 for Florida or 010 for Alabama.

Also there's FO for first party report i.e. from a family member

Just a couple of thoughts ! Hopefully the Florida government agency will send you a speedy reply and offer an explanation )

Hi' Reggie,
I have just emailed florida goverment agency re Query " Residence Code 10 ", there probably not at work yet [ there about 7 hours behind] no she was born in Ireland, married in the USA about 1930's and she lived in the Bronx, New York.

Thats why I have asked, seems a bit odd

I meant re the CODE!

Was she born in America?

If not, it may refer to whether or not she was a US citizen.........just a thought

Did she die outside of USA?

For individuals who died while residing outside of the U.S., the record may also include a special state or country residence code.

I found a SSDI,death of my aunt in America,
Hanora Norman- born 13/6/1906 death 28/ 8/ 1987, for Zephyrhills,Florida.

However it had at the bottom line " Residence Code 10 " does anyone know what this means ?

Thanks in advance
