if you google Shorncliffe Camp, Kent there are lots of websites which will tell you which army groups were there

looking at the census there appear to be a large number of Freeman's born in Bermuda who have a Devonshire connection, so presumably the Royal Navy

If he was born before the 1911 census he should still be listed

The 1911 census lists all british army personel even those posted abroad

FMP has overseas and forces births

How do you know where he was born?

Why the uncertainty about the year? And how do you know the father was in the Army, if you don't know who the father was?

If he married, the father will be named on his marriage cert
