Hi All,

I'm looking for a needle in a haystack. Could some kind person look on Ancestry trees please for William James King born 1869 Northampton, I know that there are a number of trees on Ancestry that has him on but I'm unable to access them. He was the son of George Henry King and Mary Ann Harris, I have him up to 1881 where they were living in Leeds. Also a possible 1891 census for William in Kings Norton Warwickshire but not sure if its him. He was my grandfathers bother and the only one that I cannot find anything about. Would like to know if those trees has more info on him or if they just coped from my tree which is called All Family Tree.

If this is a request to far and no one is willing to do it I will understand.

Thank you for any help anyone can give me.

All the best

Wendy

Hello Wendy, trouble with looking on ancestry trees is they are so unreliable (our own excepted!) If you're an ancestry member but unable to access the trees is that because they are private? If so, we won't be able to see them either.

You could send messages to the tree owners ...

Will have a look but would rather try to find him through records ...

Hi Marie,

Yes I agree they can be unreliable but I would like to see what they have on William and then will check any info they have to makesure its right. My own tree is ok has I have his birth certificate and census but lost him after 1881 and not sure if the 1891 one is right but I have a feeling the other trees may have just copied mine and added my Kings to their trees when they should not have.

Wendy, none of those trees have anything that you don't! They may well have picked up your info as hints and copied (that's why I've made my trees on there private now).

It's hard to say about that 1891, it just shows Northampton as birthplace, no middle name and of course that area was the centre for shoemakers.

Hi Cupcake,

Sorry I'm with you now (silly me) yes one of them could be him, do they give ages and would there be anyway of find out more about them. I don't know how to do research for Australia, the 1956 looks promising would make him 86/87 years of age.
