Marriage looks correct from this:

West Yorkshire, England, Baptisms, Marriages and Burials, 1512-1812

Name: Lucke Purchon
Marriage Date: Mar 1756
Parish: Halifax, St John the Baptist
Spouse's Name: Sara Dyson

However, the writing on the original is faded and spidery, grooms name could be nearly anything!

Just looked at the image , I read it as Duke Fieldhouse? that's certainly a D not an L in the first name.

RR - I'll go with the Fieldhouse but the first name I'm not sure of - I don't think the first letter is the same as the D in Dyson.

though it has a difference to the D in Dyson I think that is down to a different pressure and ink flow along the line...there are other Ds very similar on the page?

There's a 'Daniel' fourth down from the top with a very similar D...I could be wrong :-D Can't find anything else on them though

I also see it is read as that on

Thanks for searching. There is a lot of new data arising from the Online Parish Clerk projects. However the name Lucke did seem odd as it is not replicated elsewhere in the Purchon family lines.

I will have another look at the image.

Thanks
