Alexander Murray Boyd jnr married in NSW in 1956. It is possible his wife is still alive...find his marriage on nsw BDM online and then check the white pages; there is a 'hit' for her initials living in a unit in Sydney. If you can't find it let me know and I will send a PM.
You may also wish to find his death notice from Ryersons Index...may list children/grandchildren's names.

Hi Penny
Daisy's parents were Joseph Austin Greene (d. 1911 Boulder WA) and Sarah Jane. Sarah died in August 1928 and her death notice states she had several children (including Daisy) and two grandchildren, Clem and Jean. I think Clem is most likely the son of one of Daisy's sisters (Clement Stephens, b. 1912). There are two Jean Stephens but also a Jean Boyd born 1918 in Fremantle and Jean E Boyd in 1919 in Perth.
Daisy's brother Gilbert married and died in NSW...

Penny, The confusion is caused only by the fact that you have a marriage year of 1916 for Alexander and Daisy. According to the info provided by cupcakes, Alexander and Daisy did not marry until 1918. This info slots in exactly. He and Daisy are together only in Perth 1926 where they evidently have had at least 2 children After this Daisy is alone on Perth ERs ( any children are still too young to be listed) and Alexander has moved to Sydney living with Eileen Elizabeth
Irrespective of the parents listed on the Ancestry death index, I would expect that this will be the same Alexander Murray Boyd.
Edit: How short sighted of me His funeral announcement actually states" Late AIF and Eveleigh Workshops"

Perhaps he never divorced Daisy Dent Boyd and Eileen Elizabeth was his common law wife? If the address for his brother William ties in with that of your Grandfather then it looks to be the same man to me. His service records show that by 1926 he was living in Sydney.

It is the same person. His brother William was my grandfather. His parents were William and Jessie. I was confused when I found his parents listed as Alexander and Anne and also the possible two wives Daisy Dent Boyd and Eileen Elizabeth. I did find a marriage for Daisy and Alexander in 1916, but according to his service record, in 1916 he was either in Tel el Kebir or France before being wounded and hospitalised in England. So I'm not sure that that Alexander is the one I'm looking for.

Curiosity getting the better of me.
The birth that Anne found on SP
Alexander Murray Boyd born at 8h. 10m PM on 19 February 1892 at Tudhills, Liberton. Father William Boyd, Traction Engine Driver and Jessie Boyd maiden surname Murray were married 7th June 1889 at Newton. Father William Boyd was the informant.
Parents marriage
William Boyd formerly Scott, father John Scott, Gardiner mother Agnes Rankin maiden surname Boyd. Janet Murray father Alexander Murray, Ploughman mother Margaret Murray maiden surname Baillie. None of parents noted as deceased.
Now Janet Boyd ms Murray died as the Widow of William Boyd in 1941. Her death was registered by her son William Boyd. Now why wasn't she Alexander's next of kin when he enlisted? Could he have fallen out with his parents and that's why their names are incorrect on his death certificate? Perhaps he never spoke about them. In the passing William Boyd gives the wrong name for his maternal grandmother on Janet's death. He has her as JANET Bailley.

Assuming we definitely have the same person, Alexander's parents would have been William and Jessie. I wonder why they are listed as Alexander and Ann on the death index?
past63 may need to obtain a copy of the birh record to confirm.
I suspect he was the son of William Boyd and Janet (jessie) Murray who married in Newton, Midlothian in 1889. As 2nd son, he would be usually be named for his maternal grandfather (Alexander Murray?)
Alexander Murray Boyd can be found on all electoral rolls between 1916 and 1937. 1916 he is a miner lving in Kalgoorlie and there is no one else called Boyd in the household.
1925 in Perth is the odd one.... living at 167 Newcastle Street and there is a Daisy Dent Boyd at the same address. Daisy Dent Boyd can be found all all electoral rolls in Perth until 1963 and there is no Alexander in the household
1930-1937 Alexander Murray Boyd lives with his wife Eileen Elizabeth in Sydney 1937-1958 widow Eileen Elizabeth is still found in Sydney, latterly living with her son also named Alexander Murray Boyd
Edit: Ryerson Index Boyd, Eileen Elizabeth death notice 1 Sep 1959 ( no age given) Publication: Sydney Morning Herald 2 Sep 1959

Sorry Anne, I was adding an edit while you were posting.
On one of the later pages of that Alexander Boyd's record it gives his address in 1926 as Sydney, NSW

I had a look at the AIF info and could find only one Alexander Boyd who matched your info : enlisted in 1915 returning in 1917 This man definitely seems to be the same man who is listed on the 1901 census provided by rootgatherer. He gave the name of his brother as next of kin: William Boyd of Blackford Glen, Liberton, Midlothian. Do I have the correct soldier?
What confuses me is that this man enlisted in Kalgoorlie,Western Australia, yet Alexander Murray Boyd died in New South Wales in 1940.
As there is no indication of how old this particular Alexander Murray Boyd was at time of death, can you confirm that the soldier enlisting in 1914 and the 1940 death definitely belong to the same man?

The above Alexander Boyd seems also to have served with the Australia Forces during WW1. His service record gives his next of kin as his brother, W. Boyd, Blackford Glen, Liberton
http://recordsearch.naa.gov.au/scripts/Imagine.asp?B=3105201
EDIT
On Page 11 (of 28) of his records his brother's address is Bleachford Glen, Liberton.
His record also says he lost the third, fourth and fifth digit of his right hand.
Again from the records Alexander Boyd was living at 192 Albion Street, Sydney in November 1926.

This looks like the Alexander born in 1892 in Libberton but as Anne has said the parents do not match the information that you have.

According to his 1940 death index in Ancestry, his parents were called Alexander Boyd and Ann. His funeral notice also appears in the Sydney Morning Herald of 22nd and 23rd May 1940, husband of Eileen Elizabeth
However, assuming this full name was on entered his birth record, there is only one matching birth. This birth was registered in Libberton, Midlothian (Edinburgh City) in 1892
I cannot locate an Alexander Boyd in 1901 with parents named Alexander and Ann

I'm looking for information on Alexander Murray Boyd. He was born 19th February 1892 in Scotland and emigrated to Australia around 1912. He enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force in 1915 and fought in France during WW1. He returned to Australia in 1917 where he died in 1940.
Any other information would be much appreciated.
