Member Since: May 2004 Posts: 107 Send Message	I recently had some very useful replies to my post regarding Leonard Samuel Beard c1879 for which I was very grateful. One of the replies was from Glitterbaby which stated that in 1911 Leonard Beard (son of Leonard Samuel Beard) aged 7 was living at Shoreditch Infirmary, 204 Hoxton Street, Shoreditch. I cannot find him or his father on the 1911 census, where am I going wrong?? Regards Jayne

	On the original of the one Astra found it says Beard and has been mis- transcibed I can't find his father
	Researching: Matthew and Jane Elwood who had my great great grandfather Francis Edward Elwood baptised in 1807 at Horsham Sussex. There is no sign of Matthew or Jane from this date and my great great grandfather was brought up as Francis Edward Elwood MITCHELL

Member Since: May 2004 Posts: 107 Send Message	Thanks very much, I have looked at the 1911 census and I agree it does say Beard, I am thinking the father might be abroad as one of his brothers - Arthur Beard born 1889 - born Hoxton, Shoreditch is in Fyzabad, India in the East Yorkshire Regiment, may be Leonard was as well, I will look into this. Leonard Beard married Emma Annie Denman in 1899 so that would make 12yrs. This looks to be above Emma's marriage:- Marriages Sep 1903 (>99%) BEARD Charles Henry Hackney 1b 1098 LACEY James William Hackney 1b 1098 LUNN Emma Hackney 1b 1098 POOLE Elizabeth Jane Hackney 1b 1098 ..........so doesn't look to be her. Will leave info though for elimination.
