Can anyone oiut there help with finding the parents of sarah ann harwood who marriewd walter stansfield in 1905 in burnley? I had been told he married a harriet ratcliffe, but in fact, he married sarah and from the 1911 census she was born approx 1878 . Dont think she was born in burnley, cant read the place on the 1911 census, but it looks like robertshaw , definately lancashire though.

I am thinking its probably the sarah a harwood born in 1879 living in haslingden on the 1881 census, with parents richard and mary, but wont know for sure unless i see copy of marriage certificate. Think it says burnley registry office or registrar attended. Could that mean they married a t a CHURCH that needed a registrar, as well as just the registry office. ?

thought as much, probably n on-conformist? Can never find any of my stansfield marriages on lancashire parish clerks etc, think they must have all been non-conformist, think they went to Salem in burnley. Think they had a Salem chapel in burnley anyway.
