I need a little help again, I am trying to find the Marriage of Robert/Reginald Hyland to a Marie? possibly in the USA? New york or Boston area maybe? He was born in Liverpool in 1904 as Reginald Hyland (known as Bob), family moved to Hoylake a few years later. I have found that he went to sea in the 1920's deck boy on the Winifredian, sailing into Boston. On a 1940 USA census he is registered as Robert Hyland, listed as living at 1762 East 52nd st Brooklyn Kings, with his wife Marie age 28 born in Belgium, and one year old son Robert,according to the census was living at same address in 1935. also he became a naturalised American in 1944, still at same address, but cannot find any Marriage for him. He is my grandmothers sisters son, and the family who are still around today, say to their knowledge he did not get married in England, but in the USA, one relative thinks he may have got married in Belgium, his wifes birth country can any one help please

Can only suggest that he may well have married in "Foreign Parts" given the years in question cover WW2 ...was his son b US...?

to eringobragh yes his son was born in New York, Brooklyn I think.
To Maureen, that could be her from that family? but until we find a marriage for them, not 100% sure, but it will give us something to work with thanks.

Definately the first one, as as his birth and death dates are correct and place the same as we have.

Albert if indeed you find that this is the correct family then you can access an immigration record for them into the US on the Ellis Island data base...journey was made 1922

Henry was b NY 1886 but Passenger list for the "Lapland" out of Antwerp and arriving NY. 2 April 1922 shows Henry Josephine Marie and Eugene plus Henry's Mother Marie.
Although Josephine originally came in 1915 (1920 census) she appeamay have been unmarried at the time ....need to find her maiden name or the marriage of Henry and Josephine to follow that through.

My cousin and I believe from the info you all supplied, and what bit my cousin had, that Reginald/Robert Hyland married Marie Uyttebreek. As the 1940 census is now open to all, they lived next to each other, and had been since at least 1935 according to the 1940 census. Up to now we have not been able to find a marriage for them, so do not know when and where they where married in the USA, but think it was in the same area that they both lived? until we find it we can not be sure, will let all know when we do, again thanks for your help
