Matthew is the Son of John Walker and Marey ?. Matthew and his brother Willam were baptised in Herts in 1778. Matthew is witness at both of his brothers weddings. I can find Matthew in the 1851 census, showing that he is widowed, but cannot find a marriage for him. At his brother williams second wedding, there is also a witness Martha Walker. I haven't been able to find her as a sister to Matthew and/or William. So is she the elusive wife? Regards Linda |

Hi Gins, that's him. The only sibling I have for his is William Walker who was also baptised in 1778. William was my ancestor, and he died in 1846. Regards Linda |

Gins, you beauty!! That is him, and that seems to confirm that Martha is his wife. I've tried every spelling of walker etc, and not found him once. Thank you so much. Shall get onto the census right now! Regards Linda :-D |

Hi Gins, the first marriage took place in 1803 in Buckinghamsire to one sarah osborn, then the 2nd in 1818 to charlotte osborn. No parents names given on either :( Did a quick check and elizabeth walker married william beam, so that clears that up, BUT I can't find her birth and I'm having no luck with mathew and martha's marriage either!! Regards Linda |

Yep, that's his second marriage, I have the copy and he tells a few fibs, batchelor, no children ( he had about 7 with sarah!). The main confirmation is Mathew as the witness :-) |
