I know almost all there is to know about Henry (My Gt Grandfather) It is Amelia I am interested in the marriage in 1864 looks very promising as I know that at this time Divorce was difficult and costly and couples just split and went their separate ways

am trying to trace Amelia Elizabeth Allchorne.
Her single name was Sadler.
She married Henry Alfred Allchorn 13/7/1862 at St John the Evangelist Lambeth
According to the marriage certificate both were minors (ie under 21, the age of consent at that time) Her father was William Sadler ( Wire Worker) who also signed the register aling with Mary E Sadler (possibly her mother) I cannot find any trace of Amelia's death or any children. Henry ( My Gt Grandfather) however married Ellen Pierce in 1866 stating he was a batchelor,
Henry went on to marry twice more but each time stating (Correctly) that he was a widower.

Have you found her in 1851 for her age and birthplace ?

when Henry Allchorne married Ellen Pierce in 1866 he states he is 22 which makes him born c 1844 and a BACHELOR so if he married Amelia Sadler in 1862 he would have been 18

No trace of Amelia Elizabeth after her marriage to Henry. There does not appear to be any children to the marriage as in 1871 when he is married to Ellen there is just an 11 mth old child. It would have been difficult to pass himself as a bachelor if there had been children. Divorce would have been expensive so maybe they just went their separate ways.
