Start from the 'facts' you already know - i.e. your parents, then grandparents etc. and we can work back until we get to census's. |

Do a google search for a good book about the subject, or go on a course run by a local education authority. Or buy a magazine. |

Franbell, when you clicked "Add Topic" to start this thread did you not notice that right near the top of the board there is a thread called "Absolute Basics for Beginners" - that might have been a good starting point |

Hi again My father was Jack Belshaw born 1917 I wish to look further back to William who was his father and also by remarkable coincidence My good friend and colleague was lookng through her Mothers history and found a Belshaw family connection so we are really wanting to see what it is. |
