You've all been very helpful. I think my Norman Alan Thomsett must be the one who died in WW1 and I've led you all on a wild goose chase with Norman Alan Thompsett!

David - he was apparently born ThomPsett in India.

I don't think the Thomsett (without the P) born 1900 is your chap.

I hadn't noticed before. He was born Thomsett but changed to Thompsett by the time he was married.

According to tree above, Ruby died 2007 in St. George's hospital Tooting. David, you would be well advised to contact the tree owner, they have considerable detail about this family.
Their son Michael Frank has died but the others are still living.

Unless it's been a case of finding possible names on the indices? There isn't an obvious birth for a Norman Thom(p)sett in 1921 so perhaps that 1900 one was alighted on as being correct?

Perhaps David could explain his sources and then we can see where to take it.

Unless David has the 1947 marriage certificate to prove the ages when they wed, I suspect that the Norman Thomsett who married Ruby Crame is not the one born 1900.

It makes the 1972 death that Jan found seem a stronger contender for Ruby's husband.

I suspect Richard married 1994, a little older than is usual, but it matches for middle initial and area.
Do you have reason to suppose they emigrated, or is this just an avenue to explore as you cannot find them?

Hmm, the Norman Thomsett born 1900 was killed in 1918 in WW1, there is a copy of the telegram informing his mother on those records. There is also this from CWGC:

This gentleman was born 1900, married Ruby Crame born 1923 and had 3 children Alan, Michael and Richard born 1947-52.

However, I can't find anything after 1952. Could you possibly check immigration lists on Ancestry for me please? They don't appear on FMP lists.
