Dinsdales in Worcester

Does anyone have Dinsdales in their Family Tree please. A Frederick born around 1823 in Essex but living Worcester and in 1851, Birmingham. Who might or might not have been transported in 1852. His son William George born in Birmingham around 1851 but living all his life in Worcester.

I am doing some initial research for a friend who wants to start researching her FT and I am providing her with some information to start her off on her journey ! I have a number of census entries for the family, and Frederick's criminal record.

I cannot find Frederick, or his wife Mary Ann and their son William on the 1861 census.

I just thought I would see if anyone on this website could offer anything before I hand over the information I have obtained.

Try Search Trees on this site.

If you find a possible match you can contact the tree owner to see if you have a connection.

Sylvia

There is a dark green bar above these boards - one of the options is 'search trees'

If you use that, you will find that at least 3 members have Frederick in a GR tree

The facility is provided by GR to help with just such enquiries as yours

If the 1871 is accurate - William G was either not Frederick's legitimate son, or he was not Mary's son

Sylvia.
I know this won´t be much help.but may save a fruitless search.
I have been told that parts of the 1861 census for Birmingham are missing. In fact one of the archivists looked for my family without success & she knows the tricks of the trade. Have them in every other census, mistranscriptions and all, but zilcho for 1861.

Gosh, lots of replies I hadn't realised I had ! Thanks Cynthia for letting me know - I must remember in future.

I need to go and have something to eat (late lunch!) and will come back to give a proper thank you / reply later.

I have sent an e-mail to 3 of the people who look most promising who have Frederick Dinsdale in their FT. Thank you for reminding me - I don't know why I forgot to look at the Search Trees option !

Lynski: Yes it is the correct 1851 cenus - I have that information.
The Rosina Dinsdale death in 1855 cannot belong to this particularly family as Rosina married Alfred Soley and in 1881 the census shows the family with her mother - Mary A Dinsdale - living with them.

Reggie: Why do you say William G Dinsdale (born 1851) is not the legitimate son of Frederick and Mary Ann ?

Wisechild: thank you for the information on the missing records for 1861 census. That is helpful.

Because William G that I found with his mother and sister etc in 1871 was born c1845

I took the trouble to look up and post the sister's marriage to verify that I'd posted the correct family's record for that year.

I also checked the image for William's age - which is definitely recorded as 26

My comment was based on available info............

I posted 1871 two days ago. Reggie: Was does this mean ?

Looking at the original 1871 census entry - which I have - the age is crossed through twice so making it difficult to read the age. But I think it might say 26 - these census entries can sometimes be wrong though !
Looking at the original census entries for other census years, his age equates to being born 1851, so I think the 1871 entry was a mistake if it does say 26.
