Many thanks everybody for your updates. A Norman Dixon travelled to Brisbane from London on Orama, arriving 9 Apr 1912. Norman married Mildred Garlick 16 Nov 1918 in Crosthwaite, Lancashire, UK, so presumably returned home inbetween. From 1919 he and Mildred appear in Kyabram electoral rolls (as do his parents George Frederick and Isabella, sisters Greta and Mary). Greta marries William Harvey Morrissey. Norman and Mildred's children would be my late father-in-law's first cousins. There seem to be at least 3 sons (Norman Reginald, Raymond Douglas and Ronald Wearing Dixon). From the electoral rolls I also see Colin Ronald Dixon and Shirley Mavis Dixon who may be related. I have started to contact owner's of the Ancestry Trees but as yet have not found a contact with first-hand information. |
