Find Ancestors

Edit. I wonder if anyone can find evidence of Susan Green marrying? It has just occurred to me that C M Siggs (Green) might have siblings. He was born Kensington 1868 and she was born circa 1844.

A while ago I was trying to find the birth of a Charles Matthew Siggs who died in 1949 and from census records appeared to have been born circa 1869. I could find nothing that dated right except for a Charles Matthew S Green. I now have a birth certificate for this person and the S is Siggs. It gives his name as Charles Matthew Siggs, his mother as Susan Green and no father named. The address given is Colehill Lane, Fulham. Can anyone find them on the 1871 or 1881 census or find any evidence of who Susan Green was?

p.s. I have all the info on the Siggs family as many on here already know!! I'm specifically looking at the Green family :-)

Helen, I think you might have the 1871 right -they are living Windmill Cottages but there are various dwelings nearby called 'Colehill' something - quite a co-incidence!.

Thanks Helen, I've been working on that one for some time. Will never prove it though ! Trying to find the origins of a line of Siggs with seemingly no history beyond this chap, at least I have a mother for him now !

The possible father was born in Walham Green so the tenuous link is growing in strength!
