Hi Gwyn,
This is definitely your family.... Stephen, Bellchambers, a bricklayer lived at Lumsden Invercargill and can be found on all electoral rolls from 1880 until his death.
Son Stephen Bellchamber jnr was a hotel porter at the Imperial Hotel in Christchurch until at least 1914

The cemetery inscriptions pose some questions...
I wonder why Stephen is not with his wife?..A story there maybe?

Also I note on Ann's grave, the inscription mentions her daughter Julia as the wife of J ( or I ) RALLINSHAW.
Is there is mention of this marriage please?

On the cemetery search, I don't quite understand the bottom listing for Stephen. I will have to go back and figure this.......

I live in England, but visited NZ in 2008 and can't believe we stood in that very cemetery chasing up my own SKERRETT family.
If only I'd known.....................

Papers past has the marriage announcement of Elizabeth Bellchambers to Thomas Hitchcock.
If this turns out to be the correct family, Elizabeth lived in Invercargill and married on 7 Apr 1885
