Hi Cynthia.
If you just do a random search on Ancestry for 'Agnes Gold' it comes up with a death note thingy (!) for an Agnes Gold Miller Lonie in Scotland in 1932. Might be a co-incidence obviously. Might she also be Scottish do you think?

Have you tried Scotland for a birth, her name sounds very Scottish?

I last delved into this mystery about 3 years ago and am still going round in circles :-(

All information is included here:

I have the marriage certificate dated April 1960 at Tynemouth RO between:

Thomas Lewis Taylor aged 46 years
(Previous marriage dissolved)
Refrigeration Plumber
2 St. Oswins Place, Tynemouth
Father: George Taylor (deceased) Cotton Warehouseman.

and

Agnes Gold Miller Henderson aged 38 years
Spinster
Wages Clerk/Typist
2 St. Oswins Place, Tynemouth
Father: James Henderson - Indoor Officer, Customs & Excise.

Witnesses: Jas. Henderson and Jean F. Henderson.

I have also got Thomas's b/c (1913 Liverpool) and d/c (1970 Tynemouth).

I simply cannot sort out the Hendersons and am going round in circles.

There is no birth for an Agnes Gold Miller Henderson and I have tried various combinations of the name.

James Henderson is a much too common name to conjure with and so I moved onto Jean F. Henderson.

There is one Jean F. Henderson born in 1910 but it looks as though she married a Wibberley in 1932.

The only Henderson I can find who has married a Jean F. anything, is
Keith Henderson who married a Jean F. Moss in 1955.

Keith's MMN was Hay, but I cannot link it to Agnes.

The other peculiar thing with Agnes is that she is registered as the Informant on Thomas's d/c and is down as Widow.

but

there is another marriage for her in 1969 (a year before Thomas's death) to a Francis K. Sweeting.

Would she still be considered his widow even though she was married to someone else?

Thomas is one of my OH's uncles and we know little about him.....his first marriage; whether he had children etc. OH remembers that he was in 'the guards' but can't remember which regiment but was reputed to be one of Monty's bodyguards.

This man has caused a huge amount of work because he was only known as 'Ben' in the family. Apparently he was very tall - hence Big Ben. sigh......it doesn't help does it. It took me a long time to work that out.

I would be very grateful if someone could please point me in the right direction.......Thanks. :-D
