I am trying to find out birth details and possibly miitary (if any) for Samuel Lomas who married Frances (unknown). Samuel lived in Kilrush Ireland for a while and died on 23/10/1858 whilst working for the Vandeleur family. I would like to know if he was ever on a ship as I have a carved horn and would like to gather more information on him. |

Samuel Lomas is an ancestor - he had a son - Lewis with whom Francis (Samuel Lomas' wife?) was living after the death of her husband. |

I presume Catherine is his second wife, married in 1837? |

Looks like he may have gone to Ireland to work, had his son Lewis whilst in Ireland and decided to settle there for a while. |

So do you know anything about the 'Powis' connection? |

What is Samuel's age at death, as Frances was born around 1790, and so a relatively old mother for Lewis? |

So the youngest child in 1861 is actually Powis - I could not look it up to confirm, will try again. |

Harriet Powis in 1851 census is also born in Nayland Suffolk - same as Frances. |

Ithink that Arthur may have been the youngest child - Arthur Dunford - not sre how this relates to Francis and Samuel. I do not have an age for Samueld except the date of death which is 23 October 1958 possibly grave plot 113. |

No sorry I don't - nothing except a newspaper article stating that Frances' husband was Samuel Lomas. |
